The lost and stolen card line never closes, including federal holidays and overnight. From outside the United States you can call collect. Lead with whether money has already left the account so the agent can attempt a recall before the batch settles. If the card is only misplaced and no charges have appeared, freeze it in the app and give yourself a day to look; if it has not surfaced by then, call and have it closed for good.

Three things to know

Read these once the card is closed, not before.

You are not liable Report unauthorized use promptly and you are not out the money. Under Regulation E, telling us within two business days of learning about a debit card loss caps your exposure at $50, and Summit waives even that. Waiting past 60 days after a statement is the one thing that genuinely costs you.

Your card number changes A reported card gets a new number, expiration date, and security code. That is the point. Anything drafting from the old number, such as insurance, gym, or streaming, will decline until you update it. Write the list down before you hang up.

Cash is still available Any Summit branch or any of the 5,600 shared branches will verify you with a photo ID and hand you cash from your account. You can also move money to another institution from online banking while you wait for the replacement.
