Contact Us

Reach a person at Summit by phone, in a branch, or by mail. Every line below is answered by our own staff.

One number reaches all 412,000 of us and it is answered in-house

Member service at 800.555.7846 runs 7am to 7pm Monday through Saturday, staffed by employees at our Riverton and Kellogg Park service centers. We do not route member calls to an outside contact center or overseas vendor. If your question belongs with lending, mortgage, or business banking, the agent transfers you warm rather than handing you a second number to dial.

Before you dial

Have these four things within reach

Verification is the slowest part of most calls, and preparing for it usually saves five to seven minutes.

Your member number It appears on your statement header and at the top of the accounts screen in online banking. The last four of your Social Security number works as a fallback if you cannot find it.
A government photo ID We may ask for the issue date or expiration from a driver's license or passport. Having it in hand avoids a callback for larger requests such as wires or address changes.
The transaction in question Date, dollar amount, and merchant name let an agent locate a posting in seconds. For disputes, note whether you still have the card in your possession.
The phone on your file One-time verification codes go only to the number we already have. If yours changed, plan on visiting a branch or using secure message instead of the phone.
Loan or account number Payoff quotes, insurance updates, and escrow questions all key off the loan number rather than your member number. It is printed on every billing statement.
Nothing else, ever We will not ask for your password, PIN, full card number, or a code we texted you. A caller who asks is not Summit. Hang up and call 800.555.7846 yourself.

Where to send paper

General correspondence, signed forms, and address changes go to Summit Credit Union, PO Box 4820, Riverton, MN 55402. Loan payments by check belong at PO Box 4835, Riverton, MN 55402, with the loan number written in the memo line; allow five business days for mail and posting, and use online payment if the due date is closer than that. Card disputes and written billing errors go to Member Resolution, PO Box 4841, Riverton, MN 55402. Send copies rather than originals, and keep a note of what you mailed and when.

Overnight couriers cannot deliver to a PO box. Use our corporate office at 120 Meridian Avenue, Riverton, MN 55402, which also handles vendor deliveries and subpoena service. For wires, the routing number is 271982561, and the wire desk needs your instructions by 3pm Central for same-day sending.

Common questions

Reaching us without the wait

When is hold time shortest?

Tuesday through Thursday between 9am and 11am is consistently the quietest stretch. Mondays, the noon hour, and the first and fifteenth of the month are the busiest. Saturday mornings are lighter than most members expect.

Can I email my account number?

Please do not. Ordinary email is not encrypted in transit and we will never ask you to send account details that way. Sign in at member login and use the secure message tab, which keeps a record you can refer back to.

Is there someone who speaks Spanish?

Yes. Spanish-speaking agents staff the member line during all posted hours, and fourteen branches have Spanish-speaking tellers on site daily. Interpretation in other languages can be arranged with one business day of notice.

Nobody has resolved my issue. What now?

Ask for a supervisor while you are on the call, or write to Member Resolution at the PO box above. Every written complaint is assigned a named owner and answered within ten business days. Unresolved matters can go to our elected board through the leadership page.

Do you have a contact form on this page?

No, and that is deliberate. Web forms tempt people into typing account numbers into an unauthenticated page. Call us, use secure message, or visit any of our 42 branches instead.

What if I am traveling?

The 24-hour card line accepts collect calls from outside the United States. Set a travel note in the app before you leave so purchases in unfamiliar regions are not declined, and note the 85,000 surcharge-free ATMs available domestically.

Tell us early, not late

Missed payments, suspicious charges, and rate questions are all cheaper to fix in week one. We would rather hear from you before the problem grows.
